Hardest Hit States Funds
California has received more than $1 billion from the federal government to help low and moderate income homeowners keep their homes through short term mortgage payment assistance, reducing mortgage rates and/or reducing loan balances. In San Jose, CA income limits start at $86,950 for a single person household to $163,950 for an 8 person household.
The program is offering programs for Unemployment Mortgage Assistance (UMA), Mortgage Reinstatement Assistance Program (MRAP) (FHA loans may have restrictions), Principal Reduction Program (PRP) (for conventional loans only) as well as assistance with other loan modification programs.
